Yes. Ontario Education Online (BSID: 882902) is inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education and authorized to grant Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) credits for Grades 9 to 12.

Yes. Credits are recorded on an official transcript.

For part-time students, we send the credit to the school maintaining the OSR.

For full-time students, OEO maintains the OSR and issues transcripts directly.

Yes. Students can use their OEO marks when applying to Ontario universities through OUAC.

Students must list Ontario Education Online (OEO) as one of their schools on their OUAC application. Once listed, our administrative team can upload midterm and/or final marks directly to OUAC.

Students are responsible for notifying us once they have applied and added OEO to their application so we can ensure marks are uploaded before university deadlines.

Yes. All courses are taught and assessed by Ontario Certified Teachers.

All courses are fully asynchronous. Students work at their own pace within the allowed timeframe.

Students can complete a course in as little as 4 weeks, or they have up to 12 months from their start date to finish.

Because OEO is fully asynchronous, students move at their own pace. Motivated students often accelerate, while others choose a slower schedule to balance athletics, work, or other commitments. All courses are designed to meet the Ontario Ministry requirement of 110 instructional hours per credit.

Each course is designed for 110 hours of learning: around 50 lessons of about 2 hours each and a final exam you write online when you're ready.

Teachers respond to messages within 24 hours and return marked assessments within 48 to 72 hours, Monday to Friday.

Yes. Starting with the 2026-27 school year, Ontario's updated assessment policy requires a final exam in most courses at every school that grants OSSD credits.

At OEO, you write yours online, from anywhere in the world, when you are ready. There is no exam date to book, no proctor to schedule with, and no webcam.

The rest of your grade comes from the work you submit to your teacher throughout the course.

Whenever you are ready. There is no set exam date and no proctor to coordinate with. You prepare at your own pace and start the exam when you feel prepared.

This matters most for students who travel often, like athletes with competition schedules. Many online schools require you to book a proctor for a set date and time. At OEO, you decide.

OEO exams run on Quilgo, an online exam platform. When you are ready, you log in and begin. Quilgo times your exam and monitors your screen while you write, which protects the academic integrity of your credit.

No. There is no webcam and no live proctor watching you. We chose this on purpose, because being filmed while writing an exam can make students uncomfortable or self-conscious. You write from your own space, and only your screen is monitored.

No. Starting this school year, attendance and participation count toward final grades in Ontario classrooms, worth 15% of the final mark in Grade 9 and 10 courses and 10% in Grade 11 and 12 courses. That rule is built for scheduled, in-person classes.

OEO courses are fully asynchronous, so there are no scheduled classes and no attendance is taken. Your grade is based on the work you submit to your teacher and a final exam you write online, from anywhere in the world.

Yes. OEO specializes in cooperative education placements across Ontario (and abroad), including in-person placements supported by structured online pre-placement modules. This is a rare offering among online private schools.

Each co-op credit (110 hours) includes:

• 10 structured online pre-placement modules (resume writing, interview preparation, workplace safety training, professionalism, goal setting)
• Approximately 100 hours of in-person placement with an approved employer per credit
• Ongoing OCT teacher supervision
• Midterm and final evaluations completed with the workplace supervisor

Yes. For eligible skilled trades placements, OEO can generate a Registered Training Agreement (RTA) so co-op hours may count toward an apprenticeship pathway.

Very few online OR private schools offer this level of skilled trades support.

No. Tuition includes course access, teacher support, marking, and transcript issuance. There are no hidden textbook or platform fees.

In certain situations, additional administrative fees may apply, such as:

• PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) reviews
• International transcript evaluation or credit assessment
• Specialized documentation requests

Any such fees are discussed transparently with families before proceeding.
