What you'll learn in this course

The World of Travel and Tourism

Students are introduced to the fundamental concepts of travel and tourism, including why people travel, how tourism has evolved, and the major types of tourism that exist today. They will investigate how geography influences travel patterns and destination choices. The unit establishes a foundation for understanding the relationship between people, places, and global tourism trends.

Geographic Themes and Global Destinations

This unit explores how physical and human geography shape popular travel destinations around the world. Students will study regional characteristics such as climate, landforms, culture, and attractions that make destinations unique. Through research and mapping activities, they will gain an appreciation for the diversity and complexity of global travel.

Impacts of Tourism
