What you'll learn in this course

Safety

In this unit, students will learn about the crucial importance of safety within the hospitality and tourism industry. Topics will include personal safety, kitchen safety protocols, proper handling of equipment, and emergency procedures. Through virtual simulations and safety drills, students will understand how to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents in various hospitality settings.

Food Skills & Handling

Unit 2 focuses on developing essential food preparation skills and proper food handling techniques. Students will learn about the basics of cooking, knife skills, and safe food storage practices. Through interactive virtual cooking sessions and assignments, students will practice making a variety of dishes while ensuring they follow food safety regulations.

Food from a Canadian & Global Perspective
