Unlock the Physics Behind Everyday Motion and Energy

Discover how the world around you really works. Grade 11 Physics explores the forces, energy, waves, and electricity that shape everyday experiences—from motion on the road to the technologies you use daily. Through interactive investigations and problem-solving, students build the skills and confidence needed to understand physical phenomena and prepare for senior science and STEM pathways.

What you'll learn in this course

Kinematics

Students learn how to describe motion using position, displacement, velocity, and acceleration. Through graphs, equations, and real-world examples, they analyze motion in one and two dimensions and develop the mathematical skills needed to model how objects move.

Forces and Newton's Laws

This unit focuses on the causes of motion. Students explore forces such as gravity, friction, and applied forces, applying Newton’s Laws to predict and explain the motion of objects. Emphasis is placed on free-body diagrams, problem-solving, and everyday applications of dynamics.

Energy, Work & Power

Students investigate how energy is transferred and transformed. Topics include work, kinetic and potential energy, mechanical energy, power, and efficiency. Real-world systems are analyzed to understand energy conservation and the role of physics in technology and society.

Waves & Sounds

This unit introduces wave motion, focusing on mechanical waves and sound. Students examine wave properties, behavior, and interactions, including reflection, refraction, and interference. Applications range from musical instruments to medical imaging and communication technologies.

Electricity & Magnetism

Students explore electric charge, electric fields, current, voltage, and resistance. Through circuit analysis and hands-on investigations, they learn how electrical energy is generated, transmitted, and used, building foundational knowledge for advanced physics and engineering studies.

Why our courses are different?

Ontario Teachers

All of our courses have been designed by Ontario Certified teachers. All of our classes are taught by Ontario certified teachers. All of the credits will be handed out by Ontario certified teachers.

No Exams

At OEO we understand that exams can be stressful. Being in an asynchronous environment we feel students are much better at showing their knowledge through a final class project.

Finish in as early as 4 weeks

Do you need a credit right away? Whatever your situation is, OEO is likely the right place for you to earn a credit. You can also take up to 12 months to complete a credit.
