Network and gain valuable work experience with our Co-op program!

Are you thinking about becoming a lawyer? Electrician? Mechanic? Dentist? Real Estate Agent? Why not get hands on learning in a field you desire to see if you enjoy it! Don't wait until you start paying post-secondary tuition to realize it's not a field you're interested in!

What you'll learn in this course

Pre-Placement

Focuses on finding a placement, resume building, cover letter development, writing professional emails, Job Interview Tips and Preparation, Worker Health and Safety Training, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Employment Standards Act (ESA), and Occupational Health and Safety. This portion of the course usually takes approximately 10 lessons.

Placement

Students will attend their placement and on a weekly basis, they will submit their hours to the employer and teacher for verification. After every 20 hours of work, students will be responsible for completing an integration day module. Students will be assessed based on their performance in the placement and regular check-ins will be performed by the classroom teacher (a minimum of 3 assessments must be performed during placement).

SCELP & Culminating Performance Task

An online presentation will be submitted which focuses on the students overall experience in the Co-op placement and ties it back to a previous course completed.

About Creating Opportunities Through Co-op (Open, Experiential Learning)

Why our courses are different?

Ontario Teachers

All of our courses have been designed by Ontario Certified teachers. All of our classes are taught by Ontario certified teachers. All of the credits will be handed out by Ontario certified teachers.

No Exams

At OEO we understand that exams can be stressful. Being in an asynchronous environment we feel students are much better at showing their knowledge through a final class project.

Finish in as early as 4 weeks

Do you need a credit right away? Whatever your situation is, OEO is likely the right place for you to earn a credit. You can also take up to 12 months to complete a credit.
